EasyDECON® Disposal Instructions

EasyDECON DF200 takes little time and recourses to ensure safe disposal. The key to safe disposal is to ensure proper dilution of the individual products prior to flushing down the drain. EasyDECON DF200 is composed of a surfactant solution (part one), hydrogen peroxide (part two), and a catalyst or accelerator (part three). Part one contains surfactants that dissolve various oils and lipid/hydrophobic soils or chemicals. Part one ‘wets out’ or reduces interfacial tension of biological agents or insoluble minerals allowing oxygen bonds thus neutralizing the hazard.

PART ONE

Disposal of part one requires dilution using any type of water at a ratio of 2:1. Place the hose dispensing the water into the solution. Try to avoid pouring the water onto the solution. Pouring the water onto the solution will create excess foaming. Once part one has been diluted 2:1, it is safe to pour down the drain or onto the ground.

PART TWO

Disposal of part two requires dilution using any type of water at a ratio of 2:1. Allow the diluted solution to sit for 36 – 48 hours. By adding water to part two and allowing it to sit, will reduce the amount of oxygen in part two to a safe level. If at all possible, place scrap iron in the solution to further deplete the oxygen content. Once part two has been diluted 2:1, and dwell time has elapsed it is safe to pour down the drain or onto the ground.

PART THREE

Disposal of part three does not require dilution. This product is used in food preparation facilities and is not harmful to the environment.

MIXED EASYDECON DF200

Once all three components have been mixed together, the oxygen content in part two has been diluted to 3.95%. Adding water to the mixed solution at a 2:1 ratio and allowing the diluted solution to sit for 8 hours, will degrade the solution to a safe level. The diluted solution is now safe to dispose of by flushing down the drain.
