Crystal Clean® Product Development
In July 2000, Sandia National Laboratories provided non-exclusive, all field-of-use licenses to EFT of Huntsville, AL for manufacture and sales of the Sandia National Laboratories’ decontamination technology. EFT currently produces and sells the decontamination solution as EasyDECON®. EasyDECON has been deployed globally to military operation theaters. EasyDECON was the first decontaminant used to kill the anthrax that was discovered in the Hart Senate building.
EasyDECON is a blend that includes ordinary household substances such as those found in hair conditioner and laundry detergent that neutralize both chemical and biological agents in less than 30 minutes, but is naturally biodegradeable, environmentally friendly and easy to apply.
Clandestine Meth Lab Decontaminant
In 2005, EFT developed a unique solution based from the EasyDECON technology. EFT conducted field tests to study the remediation of clandestine meth labs. Several structures were remediated spanning across the nation. In each field study, the solution neutralized the residual meth and brought post test samples to near undetectable levels. The post test results produced first time clearance from the Indutrial Hygienists.
In 2007, EFT introduced Crystal Clean®. Working with professional remediators and industrial hygienists, EFT developed initial remediation guidelines for using Crystal Clean.
Crystal Clean is now commercially available for the professional remediator. Crystal Clean is available in a variety of packaging configuration tailored for the remediator's specific needs.
